Many times, I’ll catch myself letting idle words ESCAPE my lips just for the sake of conversation.

Even as I was speaking at our church last weekend, I realized I had said something onstage that I would NEVER want to shape my future, if it actually came to pass.

What we BELIEVE and what we SAY is more important than we realize.

Whose side are you on?
During World War II, the U.S. government actually had an ad campaign designed to WARN citizens how INNOCENT conversations might accidentally divulge vital information that our enemies could use AGAINST us.

Today, OUR enemy is going about seeking whom he may destroy, while our own CARELESS WORDS may be supplying him with all the ammunition he needs!

We should never allow our “loose lips” to say anything BAD about ourselves or others…even if we’re just joking.

• I’m TOO OLD for this.
• You scared me to DEATH!
• You know I HAVE cancer.
• You’re driving me CRAZY!
• This headache is KILLING me!

If You Say So
The Bible says, what we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth determines EVERYTHING, from our short-term future to our eternal destiny.

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (NIV)

Wow! Isn’t it amazing how the most POWERFUL TRANSACTION in the universe takes place as a result of our own WORDS!

If we have this incredible ability to (positively or negatively) shape our individual lives, then we should probably be asking ourselves, “What EXACTLY, have we been talking about lately?”

Paint the Town Pink!
This Friday night at the “Paint the Town Pink” event, I’m going to talk more about what we believe in our hearts and what we ALLOW to come out of our mouths.
