Have you ever felt like calling in sick?
Have you ever wanted to just take some time for yourself?
Are you daydreaming right now about how much fun that would be?
Most preachers would tell you to suck it up and get back to work.
They’d say, “If you’re not struggling, then you’re not doing enough for Christ.”
But I have news for you. The Christian life isn’t a to-do list. It’s a DONE list.
You see, Jesus came to be and do everything that we could not be and do so that we would have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
It’s time to stop feeling guilty and start living your life to the fullest. The best way to enjoy abundant life is to rest in the finished work. Here’s how…
8 Ways To Live Life More Abundantly
#1 – Take time to wind down from a stressful day by meditating on God’s love for you. A fresh revelation of God’s love is the quickest way to recharge your batteries.
#2 – Get a manicure and pedicure. Jesus got a pedicure (Matthew 26:6-11). Ladies, if you’re married, take your husband with you so it’s not so awkward for him.
# 3 – Turn up the music. Do you remember how easy it used to be to get lost in the music? You didn’t have a care in the world (until your parents told you to turn it down). I’m giving you permission to crank it!
#4 – Take a walk. Sometimes you just need to get out of the house. Breath in the fresh air and take note of all the pretty things on your path. God put them there just for you.
#5 – Put the kids to bed early. Make tonight all about you. Light some candles and get into the tub.
#6 – Don’t be overcome by the news or current events. Your dad is God. All things work out for your good. Period.
#7 – Don’t feel guilty for being human. Allow yourself to cry. Allow yourself to fall down. If you never fall down, God can never pick you back up.
#8 – Relax. God was doing this thing before we got here, and He will be doing it after we’re gone.
How Far Do You Want to Go?
One of the hardest struggles of our youth is the fear of not having what it takes to make the mark in life.
F.E.A.R. is false evidence appearing real. You already have everything you need to make your mark, and that everything is Jesus.
You see, He has already raised you up and seated you in heavenly places. So the question is… how far do you want to go?
Thank you for these words… I work and work and work, trying to be better. I never seemed to be on top in other’s eyes, and I always felt I had to prove myself, so I work and work and work. And what you posted here, hit home!!! I normally post “Gods got this”, and I believe it… but sometimes that belief isn’t so strong in my own life.
Love your ideas on what to do when we need a day off!!!
