Years ago, David and I were in Jamaica for our anniversary when the forecast started warning about a tropical storm heading our way. We were flying out ahead of the storm, so we really didn’t think it would be a problem.
Sitting at breakfast one morning, I was praying and thanking God for the nice weather He had given us, so far. Suddenly, an alarm came up in my spirit.
“GET OUT OF THERE… NOW!!!”
Immediately, I called our son, Austin, and asked him to quickly book us a flight OUT!
As I hung up the phone, I figured that we had just 80 minutes before our flight left. We were still in our swimsuits, not even in our room, not packed, and still a good 20 minutes away from the airport.
(Talk about PRESSURE!)
I was FREAKING out! We just threw everything in our suitcases and were out of that hotel in less than five minutes!
We gave the taxi driver a generous tip to FLOOR IT and get us to the airport. Lo and behold, we got the LAST TWO TICKETS out of Jamaica before the hurricane hit!
Later, we watched the news reports as Sandy changed from a tropical storm into a SUPER HURRICANE threatening the entire East Coast of the America.
Learn to love the PRESSURE, and see it as a sign of better things to come. Sometimes it’s not the pressure of what we endure, but the BLESSINGS of what we miss!
