For some of us, running is the thing we do so that we’re too BUSY to think about… it. (What’s your “it?”)

We become workaholics (totally guilty), alcoholics, mom-aholics (oh yeah, you overachieving moms, it’s a thing),

rage-aholics, volunteer-aholics, food-aholics, and relationship dodging-aholics. (I did that one, too)

We don’t want to stop because if we do, we know what’s waiting for us. IT! (My “it” was actually a “he.” My ex-husband.)

  • At one point, I couldn’t live at my house anymore because he kept breaking in.
  • I couldn’t sell the house because he refused to sign the papers.
  • I couldn’t pay the mortgage because he spent all our money on crack and maxed out our credit cards.
  • In fact, he sold everything we owned for drug money.

That’s how I know where all the local pawn shops are because I bought my stuff back from them, over and over again.

The madness somehow would not stop! So… I RAN.

RUNNING is why we were always so tired. Not like a track… more like a treadmill. We keep putting in all the effort and getting absolutely nowhere!

It’s time to hop off the hamster wheel!

We have to stop running away from our past and STAND UP. Stand firm. Stand still and know that there is a God in Heaven.

We need Him! (If we could heal ourselves, we would have done it by now.)

I had to find the FAITH and courage to turn around and finally face my giant! If God is for me, who and what can be against me?

An angry, drug-addicted man, perhaps? (That’s a piece of cake for God!)

Our battles belong to the Lord. But the VICTORY is always ours! Even though we may have picked the fight.
