Have you ever encountered a LION in the middle of the road while you were on your way to do something for God? (I hate when that happens!)
Or maybe it’s a STORM that arises in an attempt to DERAIL us from our destiny.
In Mark Chapter 4, a MEGA storm was engulfing the disciples’ boat and they were all FREAKING out!
But Jesus didn’t panic.
“…He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39 (NKJV)
Have You No Faith?
When every one of the Disciples was TERRIFIED and didn’t know what to do, Jesus DID.
He SPOKE to the storm because He knew He had to CONTINUE on.
Then He asked His disciples WHY they hadn’t done the SAME thing.
“…Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” Mark 4:40 (NKJV)
Great Expectations
We are ALSO His disciples.
When a storm or ROADBLOCK arises in OUR path;
• Death
• Divorce
• Diagnosis
• Bankruptcy
• Foreclosure
God EXPECTS us to SPEAK peace and continue to the other side.
Why?
Because on the other side of this temporary DISTRACTION, God has a permanent ASSIGNMENT waiting for us.
Special Assignment
God sent Jesus to SAVE all mankind.
Believe it or not, the TASK God has for us is EQUALLY as important! Wow!!!
We can be bold! Speak to whatever storm that’s BLOCKING our way. Tell it, “PEACE…be still.”
And know that this DELAY is just a sign that God has something INCREDIBLE for us waiting on the other side!
What lions or storms have been blocking your way? Did you find something amazing waiting on the other side that you could share with us?
My storm has just begun. I know we will make it through this. But it’s going to be a rough ride. I do trust in God that he will give me the strength to go forward.
My storm was earlier in life. It was much like yours, Pastor Nicole, but my storm was beyond Stage 4 Cancer.
I had an emergency surgery close to the age of 35. In the middle of the surgery, the doctor stopped, and sent me out of the operating room.
Later, she explained in her office that she had seen Cancer many, many times. She knew Cancer when she saw it, and my Uterus was filled with Cancer. She had to stop the surgery. There was nothing else she could do.
My doctor said that I could have chemotherapy and a hysterectomy and have a “little more time.” I thanked her for the suggestion, and had neither.
I was teaching a Bible Study in my home regarding “faith.” Our young daughter was 5 and hadn’t come to know the Lord yet. I wasn’t leaving here until I knew that every one of my 4 children knew God and was serving Him, even if it took a lifetime. 🙂
I reminded God that I had read His Word, and taught His Word. Psalm 103: 3 said that He was the God who heals us of ALL DISEASES, and that would include Cancer! 1 Peter 2:24 said with Jesus’ stripes I was already HEALED. Psalm 9:11 promised “…by Me your days will be MULTIPLIED. And YEARS OF LIFE will be ADDED to YOU.” Psalm 12:4 reminded me that “…with our TONGUE, we WILL PREVAIL….” Psalm 8:35 recounted that “Whoever finds Me finds LIFE and obtains FAVOR from the Lord.” Continually, I reminded God of His Word, and finally, I spoke Deut. 30:19 “…I have set before you, LIFE and DEATH, BLESSING and cursing…CHOOSE LIFE….” I CHOSE LIFE!
Everyone spoke demise for me. My doctor spoke death. My family spoke death, but God’s Word and I spoke LIFE. When the medical community had no choice, but to give me up, Jesus and God’s Word, literally, gave me LIFE.
I wasn’t prepared to face the storm of death at that young age, Pastor Nicole, and I sincerely doubt that you were prepared to face learning that you had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer either. The blessing with God is when we are in Christ Jesus, there is always HOPE, IF we dare to BELIEVE and RECEIVE. 🙂
Now, I’m sharing your messages and Pastor Dave’s of FAITH and HOPE with my precious Cousin, Carol, in TX who has recently survived Cancer. As far as I know, she and I are the only two in a very large family who have survived Cancer and continue to LIVE by the power of God. 🙂
Thank you for your wonderful blogs and messages of Truth, Pastor Nicole. I look forward to the encouragement.

Sherry,
What a testimony! We have what we declare over our lives! I am so proud of you for standing so firm on God’s word through that time! Plus I love your tenacity as a mom. Gotta make sure those babies know Jesus!
Thanks for sharing! Praying for you and your cousin, Carol!
