No one wakes up in the morning and says, “I’m going to ruin my life today.”
No one says, “I’m going to start a bad habit.”
Or, “I’m going to lose my job.”
Or, “I’m going to get a divorce.”
No one has that kind of To Do List.
But it happens all the time…
So How Did We Get Here?
In my study of human behavior, I have found that bad days often begin with regretful and negative thinking.
If we don’t check ourselves, then these bad days turn into bad weeks.
Bad weeks turn into bad months.
Before you know it, you’ve lost years in this fatal cycle of negative thought.
But let me tell you, if you change your thinking, you can change your outcome.
I love the photo of two dogs fighting over Michael Vick’s jersey. Neither dog has the capability to wear his shirt, so the only thing they’re wrestling with is letting go of someone who did them wrong!
Have You Ever Had Trouble Letting Go Of Something?
Did you know that holding onto the wrongs of your past prevent you from grabbing something new?
The Bible says,
Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? Isaiah 43:18-19 (MSG)
I believe you are going to see it.
My Never-Again List
I’m sharing my “Never Again List” because I want to help you see what God sees in you!
These are my top ten “never agains.”
I speak each one, out loud, many times every week to remind me of who I am in Christ.
Go ahead and read each one, out loud, right now.
#1 Never again will I confess “I can’t.”
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
#2 Never again will I confess lack.
My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)
#3 Never again will I confess fear.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
#4 Never again will I confess doubt or lack of faith.
God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Romans 12:3 (NKJV)
#5 Never again will I confess weakness.
The Lord is the strength of my life. Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)
The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Daniel 11:32 (NKJV)
#6 Never again will I confess supremacy of Satan over my life.
Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 9 (KJV)
#7 Never again will I confess defeat.
Thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph. 2 Corinthians 2:14 (AMP)
#8 Never again will I confess lack of wisdom.
You are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God. 1 Corinthians 1:30 (ESV)
#9 Never again will I confess sickness.
With his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)
He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases. Matthew 8:17 (NIV)
#10 Never again will I confess worries and frustrations.
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
Go ahead and print these out and place them next to your bed. Then take five minutes each morning to read these out loud.
That’s what it takes to turn the tide and get started on the right foot each day.
