DON'T MISS A THING!

I really hate to admit it, but it’s TRUE. Even pastors sometimes pick up their Bibles and wonder,

“WHERE am I supposed to start?”

One reason is, there’s a TREMENDOUS amount of information in the Bible, and it’s not even necessarily in order.

Confused? Don’t be…you’re just NORMAL!!!

So, let’s TALK about it.

An Easy Daily Devotion

When your time is short and you don’t know where to turn, try going to the Book of PROVERBS.

There are 31 Proverbs in the Bible, and 30 or 31 days in most months. Just read the numbered Proverb that coincides with today’s DATE.

How EASY is that?

It’ll only take a few minutes, but I guarantee you’ll gain enough INSIGHT to tweet about it all day! 🙂

“For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold.” Proverbs 3:14 (NLT)

With a Few Minutes More

You can EASILY finish the entire Book of Psalms in one month, if you just read SEVEN Psalms each day.

Psalms are actually SONGS that were written to describe different situations in life.

Some are written in times of TROUBLE, others in the times of THANKFULLNESS, and still others when I think the writer was just really CONFUSED. (I can relate to that!)

Reading Psalms is COMFORTNG because it makes me think that someone else UNDERSTANDS what I’m feeling.

Business 101

If you aspire to be a successful LEADER, some of the best BUSINESS books ever written are found in the Bible.
• 1st and 2nd Samuel
• 1st and 2nd Kings
• 1st and 2nd Chronicles

Here, you can learn about the rise and fall of great KINGS. Watching what THEY did, and considering what WE could do differently than those who failed, can really get you thinking.

A Novel Idea

If you enjoy DRAMA, the history in the first part of the Bible reads very much like a bestseller.

It’s chocked full of ACTION packed adventures and ODDBALL characters. (Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, Joseph’s coat of many colors, to name a few.)

Just get comfortable, and start at the BEGINNING in the Book of Genesis.

Live Like Jesus

If you want to get to know more about JESUS, then Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are your guides.

Their writings make up the first chapters of the NEW TESTAMENT.

You can compare four different first-hand accounts of Jesus’ life and read the words that He ACTUALLY spoke. How cool is that?

Then, from 1st Corinthians through the Book of Jude, you’ll find really GOOD ADVICE on how to live life.

It’s PRACTICAL stuff you’ll be able to use every day!

It’s all GOOD!

I certainly could have mentioned many MORE fascinating books of the Bible, but space would not permit.

I just didn’t want the uncertainty of HOW and WHERE to start, to keep anyone from picking up their Bible today.

Happy reading!

  2. Wendy R says:

Thank you for the guidance. I will apply the infamous ‘x’ on each day of the calendar this month to represent my commitment to read Proverbs. 🙂

  3. Linda Jackson says:

Many many years ago my grandmother taught me to read Psalm 23 after I woke up from a nightmare. It always made me feel better and calmed me down so I could go back to sleep. This part (23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me.) has always made me feel safe and protected.

    • Nicole Crank says:

      Linda,

There’s no better place too look for peace in the midst of fear than the scriptures! You rock, thanks for posting wonderful woman! Love you! 🙂

  4. Tina Meeks says:
