Have you ever FELT like you were being obedient to what God told you to do, but you weren’t necessarily seeing anything good out of it?
Maybe it’s not what we SEE, but what we DON’T SEE.
Joseph, Jesus’ earthly dad, was told by God to move his family to Egypt. That is a BIG deal. Ummm, hey, move your family away from everything to a foreign country.
Joseph does it. He doesn’t see some big promotion at his job. They get a normal house. Life is just….life. Ok God. I obeyed and got more of the same.
The blessing of obedience wasn’t what they got, it’s what they didn’t get. You see, the King in the land KILLED all the baby boys under 2 years old in the land they were living in while they were gone. Their precious baby, Jesus, would have been killed.
Today you might be thinking about this Christ-seeking road you are on and maybe even wondering if life is better because of it. I’ve been sent to you today to let you know that it is impossible for us to know ALL that God is doing for us everyday.
When we get to heaven, He will show us time after time that He caused us to miss death, hell, and heart-ache in moments of time when we were wondering what God was doing for us or even thinking ‘where are you God?’.
God’s answer is, “I’m here. Doing so much more than you know. Moving obstacles. Protecting you, my child. Making a way where there was no way. Opening doors that were firmly closed. And closing wrong doors that you would have walked through and caused you harm.”
Thank you God for loving us so much. And thank you for ALL the things you have saved us from that we don’t even see and live just ‘normal’, we didn’t die or get hurt, days.
