I was talking to a close friend, recently, who said, “I just don’t seem to be as happy as I used to be.”
As soon as he said it, I knew EXACTLY what he was talking about. My friend was feeling overwhelmed.
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Aggravated? Or depressed? (Yeah… it’s a thing right now. It seems like so many people are.)
Sometimes, we’re so overcome with our present problems that we let them stack up. We let them compound to the point that they start to steal our joy.
And when left unchecked… all that stress can lead to full-blown DEPRESSION.
You’re not alone.
Jesus said, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:23 (NIV)
As a pastor, I often have to deal with some pretty traumatic issues. It can get to be too much! I had to make a decision, early on… NOT let these challenges get the best of me.
Scientists have proven that STRESS overloads the brain with powerful hormones that can damage and kill brain cells.
(I don’t know about you…but I can’t afford too many. Lol)
So don’t allow yourself to get aggravated all the time. It’s not healthy for you!
Right now, I believe your spirit man is sounding an alarm. WAKE UP!!!
You’ll never be able to have complete PEACE with the kind of schedule, pressure, and deadlines that you’ve set for yourself.
Happiness doesn’t mean everything is perfect. Just choose to trust God and look beyond the imperfections.
