I hate taking a cab. I’m a germaphobe and the back of taxis seem so…..eeewwwww. Not to mention unsafe. I was on a long layover in Houston one time. I decided to hit a mall for a couple hours and hailed a cab.
I immediately prepared to be kidnapped. The driver was SO creepy. The movie ‘Taken’ was playing in my head. I had one hand on my suitcase and the other on the door handle that I was convinced didn’t work as the driver shouted angrily into his cell phone in a language I didn’t understand.
A far cry from my experience in New York City. David and I grabbed a taxi at the airport and much to my surprise we stepped into a clean, sweet-smelling, calm music environment.
Once inside the driver asked, “if we would like a water or orange juice this morning”, as he accessed a small cooler on the passenger floorboard. He also offered the morning’s newspapers for the journey.
If he had a cell phone, it was stowed and on silent. He offered his card before we left the taxi, and his phone number is still stored in my phone!
This driver knew how to differentiate himself. This guy KNEW how to SUCCESS-ORIZE.
Hey could have been angry with his position in life. Maybe thought of himself a ‘just-a’ driver. Instead, his attitude was ‘I-get-to-be-a’ driver. He made the most of what he had. He stood out.
No matter where you are in life, no matter what you are doing, there are ways for you to ‘accessorize your life with success’. SUCCESSORIZE.
You can not be satisfied where you are in life, as long as you are content. HUH? Be the best you are today. No matter the level you’re on. No matter the circumstance. No matter you potential excuse. No matter how temporary it might be.
Be faithful over the little. It gives God the go ahead to make you ruler over the much!
(Luke 16:10)
So look around? What part of your life can you ‘successorize’ today showing God that you are thankful for how far He has brought you on the way to where you are going?
Thank you????. Your encouragement this morning confirms my thoughts that were in my head this morning at 2:00 am when I was laying in bed trying to go back to sleep.
Thank you again.

We never know who’s watching us, perhaps the driver saw something special in you and Pastor Dave. When we let our light shine people treat us with the upmost respect. We are children of the king, Royal Priesthood, and Peculiar people. Sometimes it’s the small things in life that give us the greatest satisfaction.
Thanks for the refreshing read Nicole!
It reminds us that our attitude is a matter of choice. Both men drove taxis but had a different way at looking at life. Perhaps there could have been something going on with the Houston cabbie but nevertheless we really have to be more self aware as to how we are coming across . We have the power of God and the power of choice.
Glad I stumbled acrossyour blog????
