One time when I was out shopping, a guy who worked at the store realized that I was a pastor. I guess, he wanted to prove that he was some sort of SUPER Christian, so he walked into my aisle and randomly announced,

“Hey, does anybody have a Bible? I think we should get into the Word.”

People started looking around, confused and making faces. I tried to keep my head down and act like I was busy finding the right hairspray.

He started asking people (in a WAY-TOO -LOUD tone of voice) “Hey, did you go to church this weekend?

One poor soul answered, “No I slept in… I was tired!” He then let her know, “Well, if you had more Jesus, you wouldn’t be so tired!”

(I guess I need more Jesus because I get tired a lot!)

He may have been a “Super Christian”, but I, certainly, am not! I’m just a normal Christ-follower trying to stay sane and tell others about the goodness of God in a way that doesn’t make them feel “less than”.

This week, we’ll probably be sitting down to dinner with friends and family who REALLY need a relationship with God.

If we truly want them to fall in love with Jesus (like we did) we have to be normal people that just happen to love God.

We can still have regular everyday conversations that involve God but aren’t CONDEMNING. The love of God draws men to repentance.

Be kind… don’t be WEIRD! Just listen to where they are, love them well, and maybe even offer to come to church with them.

This Christmas, don’t act like a Christian… just BE one!

Have a safe and happy holiday!

So, let’s get down to the most IMPORTANT question. What holiday food do you really look forward to? (I absolutely LOVE the dark meat!) Don’t leave me hanging… shout out your favorite, here!

After the Christmas commotion dies down, grab a cup of coffee, sit down, and let’s catch up! Let’s Wake, Pray & Slay at 7:00 AM (CST) this Thursday morning, LIVE on Facebook! See you then!
