A while back, I was at a friend’s house. He was so excited to show me a piece of artwork he had hanging on his wall.

To me, it seemed kind of insignificant…just a NICE pencil drawing. In fact, it didn’t really look like anything worth framing.

Then he told me, “This drawing is a REAL Rembrandt! It’s more valuable than my entire house!”

WHAT? Are you kidding me?

Who gets to decide which art is valuable, anyway? Have you seen some of the bizarre stuff they call contemporary art? I could do THAT, and I’m not artistic at all!

Apparently, the value of the creation is mostly determined by the importance of artist. Do you know the artist? Do you realize WHO created that?

Okay, so sometimes we may think of ourselves as a little WEIRD. That’s probably why we don’t fit in. We’re just kind of different.

But, do you know the artist? Do you understand WHO created you?

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

We’re continually looking for our PURPOSE and place in the world. Trying to find out where we fit. Sometimes, we don’t feel like we matter, that we count or that we have any significance.

But the truth is, we are God’s own MASTERPIECES, rare “works of art”! He made us in His image. We’re not weird, we’re originals, we’re uniquely different and priceless!

We DO matter! We’re irreplaceable! To understand and appreciate our God-Given value we just need to spend more time getting to know the ARTIST!

My reaction seems trivial now. When we first came to Faith, I saw the people on TV and no one looked our age. But, my husbandcame with our son on Tues. while I was at work. He told me to listen to Pastor Dave wow that was great! Still reluctant about going, went. Such a small thing can grow into a monster so fast. Needless to say have conquered that demon.
