Find Your Fit In God

You know there was a time when those jeans accented certain parts of your body. Maybe now when you put them on, though, they make what once were “GO INS,” “GO OUT.”

During the holidays, we want our muffins on our plates, not muffin-tops above our waistband!

We ALL want to ‘fit’ in life. To fit in. To have our surroundings fit around us. But in order to truly feel like we ‘fit’ any where in life, we have to find out who we are in God and ‘fit’ in Him.

But we WORRY so often that those around us scrutinize everything we do or say.

What’s going on in our heads?
Many people often CREATE this notion in our heads about who we are and about how everyone always FOCUSES on us.

How many of us can identify with that? (It’s ok to raise your hand in agreement, no one knows what you’re reading!)

We WORRY about what others are saying or thinking about us, mainly because we just want to fit in with everyone else!

Here I am as a Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor, and I WRESTLE with it.

I DIDN’T FIT in with the mom’s groups at my daughter’s school, because I am a mom that works for Jesus a LOT. I don’t fit in with pastor’s wives groups because I do a lot of the administrative stuff. And when I am at ministry conferences, I show up in a skirt surrounded by guys in pants eating fries when all I want is a salad.

EVERYBODY deals with feeling like we don’t fit!

Life ‘fits’ when we are in God
God has CALLED us out and perfectly FITTED us for himself. We might not fit perfectly with everyone else around, because they might not be called to the EXACT same thing we are called to do!

For those times we feel somewhat out instead of in, let us be mindful of what God ALWAYS thinks and says about us – You are my beloved child in whom I delight!

A Prayer for You
God help us each to know that we are unique on purpose. As a soothing aroma, God says he will accept you and bring you out from the peoples.. and he will prove himself holy to you in the world. Ez 20:41 You created us an original and don’t want us to die a copy. Strengthen us to live in the perfect purpose you have for us, because it will fit. Amen!
