My side of the bed faces the east. Even though there are blinds on the window, there are still cracks on either side that let the sunrise stream in and beam me right in the face. Hello 6am.

If I don’t want the light to come in (which is EVERY day), I can usually figure out a way to stay in the dark.
Get under my covers.
Put a pillow over my head.
Put my robe or ANY piece of dirty laundry within arms reach on my head.
Or an eye mask. I even bought something in advance to ARRANGE a way to stay in the dark.

I wonder if we do that in life. Maybe we don’t WANT the light of God in a certain area, so we conveniently ARRANGE ways to stay out of the light.

Skip church. Don’t read our Bible, or at least THAT part of the Bible. Avoid small groups like the plague so nobody finds out about our pet darkness. Skirt conversations.

We might know we need the light, we just don’t WANT it there NOW because it’s uncomfortable. Irritating. Piercing. A change.

However, once I decide not to fight the light and finally wake up, I want more of it. I walk around and turn the bedroom lights on, open blinds, turn on lights in bathroom.
Once I’m used to the light – I want more of it!!!!

Whatever that thing is in your life that you’ve been hesitating to let God in, I want to encourage you to let me be the crack in your blinds today.

If you let His light in, I promise you – actually HE promises you – that you will be so glad that you did!

God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating. – Colossians 1:13 Message

I like the way you put this message together, yet I just like your style of preaching the way the Holy Spirit gives it to you. This was very helpful to me and I actually did get in an Iconnect group so I could let God in my life more. I’ve been twice so far and it’s been really good!
After betrayals by other Believers and family member, some great misunderstandings. I was isolated for a long time still praying , reading my word daily, hearing the word and knowing God was telling me to get connected yet fear had gotten the best of me in that area. As I continued to come to church there was even a testimony one Sunday about a man who had the same fear I did. So I knew then that I had to take a step towards what God was saying. I’m truly thankful for the way you all try to help us grow so we can get a stronger relationship with Christ. Thank You ! Enjoy your day!
