I can’t do it.

I want to. I wish I could. Sometimes I dream about it. But I can’t. It’s too…much, too big, hard, scary, sophisticated.

Thoughts we all think regularly. Weekly. Probably daily. Am I alone here? I don’t think so.

We look around at the odds and situation stacked against us. Take a realistic stock of what is happening and we walk by sight instead of by faith.

Gotcha with that last statement, didn’t I? (Go ahead and be honest and amen – please. It kicked me in the gut when I realized it too!)

We believe what we see.

Missouri is the show me state. And it’s where I grew up. We don’t believe you UNTIL you show us. The proof is in the pudding. (I honestly don’t know what that means or what kind of pudding that is, but ask a Missourian and they can quote it!)

We see a wrinkle and believe we’re old.
We see someone else moving up in the company and believe we’re overlooked.
We see someone suffer with our diagnosis and believe that’s our future.

QUIT IT!

We can’t do it. It’s a FACT…
If we look at ourselves to make it through.
If we look at our strength to carry us.
If we look at our wisdom to make all the right decisions.
WE will fail.

BUT…

We serve a God who NEVER fails!!!

We have to look at HIM. His POWER. His ABILITY. His STRENGTH. His MERCY. His GRACE. His FORGIVENESS. His LOVE. His WISDOM. His HEALING power.

We have to be more HE focused than ME focused!!!!!

God is in heaven saying, “Look in to MY face. Feel the warmth of My love, My grace, My favor, My mercy, My light shining on you. Unconditional love that you can NOT earn. Yet I give it to you to free you from fear and those things that are holding you back.”

We CAN’T. But He CAN. He WILL. He WANTS to – through US. We don’t have to do it. We only have to allow Him to do it THROUGH us.

We aren’t an originator of power. We are a conduit. Something His power flows THROUGH.

All we have to do is be open. Open to the possibility, the probability, the FACT that the God of the Universe wants to flow through and empower US.
