I Never Thought That Would Be Me

As I was sitting in the doctor’s office discussing the results of an MRI that showed a herniated C7 disc, he just wasn’t buying my story of how it happened.

“You mean to tell me that you were wrestling with your DOG and this happened?” he probed.

“Yes. THAT is how it happened”, I replied for the fourth time in a row.

“That’s what I’ll put in your chart,” he reluctantly responded, “but you need to get yourself somewhere safe.”

I left his office wondering, HOW DID I GET HERE? How did I become THAT GIRL that people worry about?

Years Later…
Hindsight is 20/20. Now I can clearly see the trail that led to a herniated disc, a broken rib, bruises, bumps, broken walls, a destroyed heart and a home that reflected the abuse that had also happened to my body.

But at the time, I just couldn’t see the warning signs of the path that I was on.

We Can’t Always See The Path We’re On
While I was on the PATH that started spiraling out of control when my spouse (at the time) became addicted to drugs and violent, my mom, some good friends, and even police officers could see where this was quickly going.

I wanted to try. I WANTED the life we had together back. I wanted to make it better. And I stayed on the path in the relationship that actually led to dooms-ville for me and my son.

I Want To Share With You
The WISDOM that I gained in that time is this, sometimes we have to stop looking at what we want and start surveying where we are.

TRUST those around us that have our best interest at heart and seek God and see what He is speaking to our heart.

The Whole Story
I want to share the whole story with you Friday night at our I AM WOMAN event Yellow Brick Road. It’s all about following the right path for your life. God’s path.

Grab a girlfriend that needs encouragement, come to the FREE event and enjoy the music and talk that I give – then let your cares melt away while we have a girlfriend party and let laughter be the best medicine! Click the photo below to use and share on your social media. I’ll see you there!

Just because my path is unclear to me…doesn’t mean that it won’t make sense in time as God reveals it to me. I will continue to pray and walk out the desires of God’s heart for me.
