Back in 2004, David and I were not pastors. We lived way out in the country on a beautiful 30-acre horse farm with a huge barn and swimming pool that we built ourselves.

We had 6 horses, 5 Dobermans, 4 ducks, 2 bunnies, a Yorkie, a Golden Retriever, a barn full of cats and a partridge in a pear tree! J

Then the unexpected happened. My father-in-law, who was a pastor, passed on. So David and I, stepped up and took over the responsibilities of his church.

God started pressing on our hearts to sell our farm and move into a subdivision closer to the church. I’m not proud of it…but I argued with my husband.

“Our house, our farm, our lives…it’s so PERFECT! We will NEVER get this back!”

When we chase God, it always looks like it’s for LESS, because God wants us to come after Him with a pure heart, for all the RIGHT reasons.

But, with God, it’s never for less. It’s always for MORE!

I THOUGHT I was in my happy place. But there was a happier, more purposeful and fulfilling place waiting for me.

Is God pressing on your heart? Are you READY for this? Because it’s going to cost you EVERYTHING! Are you ready for the criticism? Are you ready to sleep less and WORK MORE?

God will ask for it ALL! We can’t keep one foot in the world. We can’t hold onto THIS and still reach for THAT.

We have to get all the way into the water until we’re swimming in it…UP TO OUR EARS!

When we’re in over our head, that’s when our FAITH really kicks in because ONLY GOD can keep us afloat.
