Do you ever just wish that people would thank you every once in a while instead of always asking you for things?

Do you ever find yourself praying and just asking and asking for things from God?

It can be so easy to ask God to do things for you. If you’re anything like me, you’ve prayed in gripe mode, but we need to remember to pray with thankfulness.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

When you pray like this you’re not praying with thanksgiving, you’re praying with anxiety on your breath. God wants us to pray with thankfulness.

When we are thankful for how God has helped us and what He has done for us, it prepares our heart. We have more faith in God and how He is going to work in our life.

Consider that the Bible says, “Faith comes through hearing.” As you hear yourself pray about what you are thankful for, your faith will grow, your heart and attitude will be positioned to praise Him with thankfulness and to hear from Him.

Don’t you enjoy it when someone comes to you and is just appreciative for what you’ve done for them?

I would like to encourage you today to talk to God for a couple minutes and just be thankful.

God already knows all things, He knows your thoughts, but He wants to HEAR it.
