We think that the creation of life lies in a romantic moment between a man and a woman that may or may not result in a baby nine months later.

Whether your parents thought they ‘carefully calculated’ your arrival – or you were the product of two people and a one-time meeting, nothing happens by accident. God is the creator of life. He knows where we need to be in the future.

To make that happen, God rewinds to the point where we need to be born, and He allows it to happen if it is between two people who don’t like each other.

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Jesus authors our beginning and our intended end (Jeremiah 29:11) and then he gives US the pen to write everything in between the two.

Did you catch that? WE WRITE OUR STORY. We have free will, and WE GET TO CHOOSE.

The enemy doesn’t write our story. Our haters don’t write our story. We alone have that power. That’s why we can’t allow wrong voices or our circumstances to influence what we say with the pen that writes the story that is our life.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21)

That’s right. Your tongue is your pen and the creative life force of your future. If every sentence we said ended with the words ‘and that’s the way I want it’, is that the way we really want it????

How are you using it to shape your future today?
