Follow Your “Blink”

A few years ago, I read a great book entitled, Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. The whole premise of his book is, how we should always make decisions based on our instantaneous GUT FEELING and not try to reason everything out.

Isn’t it amazing, how even secular books are tapping into the genetic God-given decision maker? The more we look toward God, the more receptive we’ll be to our Holy Spirit “Blink”.

Christians know, that following God is a HEART thing, not a head thing. We can’t rationalize it! His thoughts and ways are higher than ours, beyond anything we can imagine!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”Proverbs 3:5

Hearing from Him, always comes from the INSIDE and not the outside. God is faithful to lead us down the right path. But, even if we misperceive and get off track, He is kind and will gently guide us back.

People who act boldly, are the ones who allow their HEARTS to direct the movement of their lives.

If we insist on having everything figured out ahead of time… we’ll never be able to step up and do anything COURAGEOUS for God.

Stop rationalizing and just RESPOND to Him! Be courageous and follow your “Blink”!

Have you ever had one of those gut feelingsabout a person or situation that turned out to be SO RIGHT? (Raise your hand.) It wasn’t just a coincidence.

Great word, Pastor Nicole! I related to it very well. My “blink” has been steadily growing stronger in gently urging me to step out in faith, leave my comfort zone and move into a place and position where God can use me in a mighty, mighty way. My heart KNOWS this is what has needed to happen for a long time, but my dang head, along with logistics, gets in the way of me diligently searching out exactly where He wants to plant me and how to get there.

  2. I have disobeyed my intuitive voice…gut feeling…what have you and found it never comes to a good end. If I had those moments to redo! I have found out also that God loves me so much He has given me grace through the storm. ALLELUIA! The abusive and demeaning relationship in which I ignored that inner voice that begot me two big hearted intelligent strong minded gorgeous and I mean GORGEOUS daughters that love me for raising them the way I did…poor but provided for…and never held my bad decisions against me! I thank God for the faith He has planted in me so whenever a decision needs to be made I look up and ask my Father what to do…He never leads me wrong. This is how I am able to be a strong and well grounded woman for my two blessed daughters. God is good…just ask Him for the answer!

  3. what a very powerful message indeed. we sometimes do things our own ways and forget about the Author of our lives, the One who knew our end from the begging. I’ve just learned that humbling myself will allow me opportunity of getting all the keys that i need to open the doors that God has directed me to.
