Have you ever left the house feeling just fine, then somewhere along the drive you realized you were sighing and grumpy?

You’re not sure what happened or even sure when or where your happiness got out of the car. All you know is that…it’s GONE! Now, you’re rubbing your head and you just need Tylenol!

You FEEL LIKE you’ve lost your peace!

Many times when we picture peace, we see a calm PLACE where the sun is setting over a sparkling lake. The grass is green, there’s a cool mist in the air, and in the distance, the sound of birds chirping. Ahhhhh! Now that’s peaceful!

But, PEACE is not a feeling or a place. Peace is, actually, a PERSON. Peace is the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. Peace is the Helper that Jesus promised to leave with us, when He went to Heaven.

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you…”

We aren’t called to DWELL in peace. The PEACE dwells in us!

We’re called to BRING that peace with us into chaotic circumstances because Jesus knew that the world would be a HOT MESS!

“…In the world you will have tribulation…”

When the news seems scary and people start to panic, we’re the ones who are supposed to bring the COMFORTER and the PEACE into the turmoil.

Our peace doesn’t come from the outside world. Our peace comes from the INSIDE OUT. Our inner joy and calm comes from totally TRUSTING GOD with the outcome.

“…but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NKJV)
